Artist Project

Iris Ryou

LOCATION:  2nd Avenue, west side, between 18th & 19th Street.

TITLE: Floom

MEDIUM: Spandex fabric

Instead of mourning the fallen tree, we should greet another life that will blossom its journey at the very spot. The sculpture comes from artist’s imagination of the new life called “Floom”, which is an imaginary hybrid flora between a mushroom and a flower. By leaving the sculpture in neutral tone, the artist is passing on her imagination to the viewers, inviting them to color “Floom” with their own creativity.
