Child’s Play (2012)-
I’ve always been an adventurous outdoorsy child. I loved to climb on trees, swing on them, sit under them, or just admire them. They made everything feel fun. That’s why when I moved to New York and saw kids running around on fake grass in open with no trees, I came to think that they aren’t getting A full “childhood experience.” With Sandy ripping out so many of the city’s trees, I wanted to not only address the absence, but provide a substitute. By ‘planting’ this cartoon-like tree on a now empty plot, I hope to bring back the memories of trees for adults as well as give children the feeling they get when they think or read books about them.
